At the Tokyo Auto Salon held on January 12th, 2024, Caterham’s highly anticipated Project V made its debut in Japan, marking its first public appearance in the country.
After a preceding media showcase in Italy, Project V made its way to the renowned Tokyo Auto Salon, providing international audiences with an exclusive glimpse into Caterham’s future endeavors.
The Tokyo Auto Salon is an annual event held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan, renowned as one of the largest motor shows globally. While attracting prominent global manufacturers, the event has also gained popularity within the performance and custom aftermarket sectors.
Project V shared the spotlight with Caterham’s latest addition, the new Seven 340, specifically in its R variant. Initially launched in Europe, the 340R is now available in Japan, boasting a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine tuned to deliver 172 PS. Building upon the success of the Seven 270, the 340 offers enhanced torque alongside its spirited performance.
Caterham Cars Japan hosted the stand, welcoming enthusiasts, owners, and journalists over the course of the four-day event. With a record-high attendance of over 230,000 visitors, the Tokyo Auto Salon proved to be a resounding success.
