Caterham has unveiled its newest limited-edition model, the Seven 310 Encore, a special tribute marking the end of an era for the Ford Sigma engine.
Since Caterham’s founding in 1973, Ford’s 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines have served as the beating heart of countless Seven road and race cars. Introduced in 2007, the Sigma engine became one of the most successful and long-standing chapters in the manufacturer’s enduring partnership with Ford, earning a reputation for its character, reliability, and performance.
Production of the 310 Encore will be strictly limited to just 25 cars, available exclusively to customers in the UK, United States, and UAE, with prices beginning at £39,995.
Equally comfortable carving through a race circuit or tackling a winding country road, this special edition is powered by the most potent 1.6-litre Sigma engine ever fitted to a Caterham Seven. Producing 152bhp at 7,000rpm, it achieves an exhilarating power-to-weight ratio of 281bhp per tonne. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, the Encore charges from 0-60mph in only 4.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 127mph.
Its appearance is every bit as expressive as its performance. The Encore is offered in six striking colour schemes, each pairing an exclusive new paint finish with distinctive body striping. Drawing inspiration from iconic pop and rock tracks, the colour palette includes Blue Monday, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Green Light, Orange Crush, Back in Black, and White Noise, giving each car its own unmistakable personality.
A range of exterior enhancements further elevates the package, including a 620-style aerodynamic nose cone, CUP grille, carbon-fibre front wings, and the standard Black Pack treatment for the windscreen surround, headlamp housings, and exhaust heat shield. Completing the look are a bespoke gunmetal-finished chassis and 13-inch black Apollo alloy wheels wrapped in track-focused TOYO R888R tyres.
Inside, the Seven 310 Encore combines craftsmanship with motorsport-inspired detailing. Black leather seats feature dark grey stitching and an exclusive Encore emblem, while a carbon-fibre dashboard and specially designed Encore edition gauges reinforce its limited-run character. Performance-focused features include a gearshift light, four-point harness, and a removable MOMO steering wheel.
As a final signature detail, every car is fitted with an individually numbered plaque mounted between the seats on the rear interior panel, identifying its unique place among the 25 examples produced.
