Caterham Takes on Miami: Special Edition Seven to be Unveiled at the Race Weekend

Caterham to reveal an exclusive Miami Special Edition model during the upcoming 2026 race weekend

Based on the Seven R, the special edition features a bespoke Aqua paint finish accented by Vibrant Pink and White graphics, inspired by Miami’s unmistakable automotive culture

Limited to just 12 individually built examples, the model offers enthusiasts the chance to own a unique piece of Caterham history, with 10 cars available through the brand’s USA dealer network after the event

Miami, USA, Tuesday, 28 April 2026 – Caterham has created a striking new Miami Special Edition, set to make its public debut during the upcoming race weekend in Miami.

Motorsport enthusiasts attending the event will be among the first to experience this lightweight, track-focused special edition when it is unveiled on Friday, 1 May, at Race Street, located within the West Campus of the Miami International Autodrome.

Finished in a bespoke Aqua paint colour, the car is distinguished by an exclusive Miami Special Edition graphics package in Vibrant Pink and White. Completing the exterior design is the iconic Miami script alongside a silhouette of the circuit, elegantly incorporated into the rear of the vehicle.

The bespoke detailing continues inside the cockpit. Miami script embroidery adorns the headrests, while an individually numbered plaque on the dashboard highlights the car’s exclusivity. Reflecting the handcrafted nature of every Caterham Seven, each vehicle also carries a second plaque in the engine bay, engraved with the names and signatures of the two technicians responsible for assembling the car by hand at Caterham’s UK factory.

Designed exclusively for track use, the Seven Miami Special Edition is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine producing 210bhp at 7,600rpm. With an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 375bhp per tonne and a five-speed manual gearbox, the car accelerates from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 136mph.

Trevor Steel, Senior Vice President of Operations at Caterham Cars, said:

“Miami has established itself as one of the world’s premier destinations for elite motorsport and luxury automotive culture, making it the perfect setting to introduce the Miami Special Edition. This car showcases the very essence of lightweight British engineering, and unveiling it during one of the most high-profile race weekends on the calendar represents a landmark moment for Caterham.”

The Miami race weekend is celebrated globally for its electric atmosphere, world-class entertainment, and ability to attract a unique mix of industry figures, celebrities, and passionate motorsport fans. Caterham’s participation in such a prestigious international event reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in the United States, following the recent appointment of Walt Grace Vintage in Miami as the brand’s newest American retailer.

The company has also recently announced a partnership with Precision Drive Club, an invitation-only private membership community dedicated to delivering premium driving and hospitality experiences at the Miami International Autodrome.

Following the race weekend, collectors and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to secure a rare piece of Caterham history. Ten of the twelve Miami Special Edition cars will be made available through Caterham’s USA dealer network, with pricing available upon request.
